St James
Modern British restaurant

Alfonso La Cava opened St James Restaurant in Bushey Village in 1997. Having worked in the restaurant industry for most of his life, his vision was to offer local residents a modern, fine dining experience with the promise of using only the freshest ingredients, carefully selected wines and a menu that would make dining out memorable.

St James (fully air conditioned) offers a Lighter Lunch Menu during the day, an A La Carte Menu for dinner, Sunday roast and more.  We have also just launched our set menu (not available Sat Eve).  All of our beautifully presented dishes are inspired by English, European and Asian cuisine and created by the Restaurant’s experienced team of chefs. You can expect freshly baked bread on arrival, starters including seared scallops and roast pigeon breast, and mains such as stone bass and confit duck leg. Desserts on offer include limoncello tart with mojito sorbet and our infamous homemade Toblerone Cheesecake! The A La Carte Menu is refreshed every season, whilst retaining a number of our most popular dishes. The Set Menu changes weekly, which gives the regular diner an opportunity to try something new. St James Restaurant now offers a wider range of dishes for our vegetarian and vegan diners.

The Restaurant’s latest venture is Betsy’s Tea Room, which launched in 2018. The Tea Room serves traditional Afternoon Tea and classic Cream Tea, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free menu options available. St James Restaurant is proud to be one of the longest running independent businesses on Bushey High Street and hopes to continue for many more years to come.

Very nice restaurant with good quality food and drink, and plenty to choose from on set menu. Nicely decorated interior and very attentive staff. Not exactly cheap but good value for the quality provided.
