020 8950 2480St James Restaurant opening in Bushey Village in 1997 (fully air conditioned) offers a Lighter Lunch Menu during the day, an A La Carte Menu for dinner, Sunday roast and more. We have also just launched our taster and set menu (not available Sat Eve). All of our beautifully presented dishes are inspired by English, European and Asian cuisine and created by the Restaurant’s experienced team of chefs. The A La Carte Menu is refreshed every season, whilst retaining a number of our most popular dishes. The Set Menu changes weekly, which gives the regular diner an opportunity to try something new. St James Restaurant now offers a wider range of dishes for our vegetarian and vegan diners.
The Restaurant’s latest venture is Betsy’s Tea Room, which launched in 2018. The Tea Room serves traditional Afternoon Tea and classic Cream Tea, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free menu options available. St James Restaurant is proud to be one of the longest running independent businesses on Bushey High Street and hopes to continue for many more years to come.

View MenuAlfonso La Cava opened St James Restaurant in Bushey Village in 1997. Having worked in the restaurant industry for most of his life, his vision was to offer local residents a modern, fine dining experience with the promise of using only the freshest ingredients, carefully selected wines and a menu that would make dining out memorable.
Born in Italy 1989 finishing school of Italian cookery, Marco left Italy and moved to Swiss where he learned his cooking techniques. One year later moving to France learned the skills of French cuisine. At the age of 20 he arrived in London and worked in the city becoming head chef of Friends restaurant - Pinner where he won 1 rosettes award. From there experience in New York & Chicago with new projects. In 2015 he came back to London and since opened osteria Modigliani - Pinner (2016) and was sold (2018). Now with us at St James to the present day
Tommaso Sassanelli, born in 1994 in Bari, Italy, commenced his career as a pizza delivery person in his hometown. In 2016, he embarked on a journey to the UK, where he initiated his culinary journey in a kitchen near Piccadilly Circus. Called hamyard After three years, he returned to Italy, joining the Sibilla restaurant in Tivoli, near Rome, absorbing valuable lessons. Eager for more, he found his way back to England in 2020, contributing his skills to the St James restaurant in Bushey.
Bogdan Vasi arrived in London 2013 starting his career at Fellini restaurant (Hatch end) as commis de rang. In 2017, leaving as assistant manager he moved to Osteria Modigliani in Pinner becoming restaurant manager. In 2019 he came to st James as assistant manager and in 2020 became assistant manager at Miller & Carter & again an assistant manager at Zaza in 2022. Since November we welcome Bogdan back at St James as bar manager bringing a wealth of experience.
Harris maliqui began his career in 1997 at Alpine restaurant in bushey for 10 years. Thereafter he moved to the Grove hotel for 6 months as waiter. From there moving to the Blu Pen in Raddlet. St James welcomed Harris in 2010 where has been our supervisor ever since.
Mithat Vita has over 20 yeasr of culinary experience in restaurants around the UK. From 2006 up until 2009, he worked as a head chef in the restaurant “Al Dente”, Hatch End. From 2009 up until October 2018, he worked as head chef in the restaurant “La Collina”, Harrow on the Hill. From 2006 up until October 2018, he worked as a head chef in the restaurant “The Grove on the hill". The latest introduction in st James since September 2023.
